Suzuki is recalling 46,549 units of 2006 Model Year (models that were on sale in 2005) Grand Vitara and 2005-2006 MY XL-7 SUVs because of a faulty tension adjuster pulley for power steering and air conditioner drive belt. The tension adjuster is made of plastic and could deteriorate and eventually break away due to repeated heat stress. As a result, pieces of the pulley could get caught between the pulley and the drive belt causing failure.
There is no news of any recall for the same model elsewhere as this was specific to Suzuki America.
