Suzuki Swift, one of the most successful hatchback ever produced by the Japanese, is getting more spicier. Suzuki Motor Corporation previewed the upcoming variant of Swift, ahead of it’s official debut scheduled for 13th September 2011. Suzuki had shown the concept form of Swift Sport in this March at Geneva and now company is ready with production version in Frankfurt Motor Show.
We expect a more powerful and quicker Swift this time. There will be many cosmetic elements like a two piece bumper set, modified sills, more visible rear spoiler and a set of sporty alloy wheels. The headlights and tail lamps also will get a facelift to suite the sporty character of the new Swift. But the real difference will be under the hood.
Suzuki will power new Swift with a naturally aspirated 1.6ltr power plant that delivers a peak power of 136 HP and peak torque of 160Nm. The engine will be mated to a six speed manual transmission and there will be a set of slightly tuned suspension system. The engine and transmission combo will help new Swift to clock a maximum speed of 200 km/hrs ( yes you read it right). But don’t get nervous, if at all something goes wrong a set of seven air bags will swing into action to protect you from the worst.
Suzuki says the new Swift Sport will have “design features that heighten excitement about the driving experience”. So stay tuned for Suzuki Swift Sport’s official debut just a month away from today.
