Europe’s largest car maker VW has launched its iconic Beetle and its flagship SUV – the Touareg in India today. Imported as CBU’s (Completely built units), the Beetle will compete with the Fiat 500 while the Touareg goes head-on with the German trio of X5, Q7 and M-Class and also with the Volvo XC90 and Land Rover Discovery. These launches will give VW the much needed image boost on the verge of the launch of the Polo small car for India.
