Renault-Dacia Duster SUV finally made it’s appearance to general public.We had shown some spy images of Dacia Duster previously in Wheelosphere.Dacia,the Romanian car maker is known for making economical cars.With help of their French owner Renault,they build a very economical SUV which will go on sale by 2010 Spring.
Mahindra Renault Logan’s performance in Indian sales chart is fading for the last few months.But Renault is not really concerned about this small failure as Renault Dacia Logan continues to top the charts in almost all European markets.Now Renault wants to extend Logan platform to SUV arena.Here the picture available with us shows Dacia has already prepared Duster, the sport utility vehicle on Logan platform.
Renault is planning to launch Duster in upcoming Geneva Motor Show, scheduled to start in March 2010.The Dacia Duster is sharing front facia with Dacia Logan available in East European markets(The Indian version of Logan is bit different from it’s European Kin).Though the name is not fixed for the SUV avatar of Logan, the spied vehicle shows Duster in licence plate.
The engine options currently planned for Dacia Duster are a 1.6ltr 116hp engine and 2.0ltr 143hp mill.These engines are already being used in Nissan Sentra.The all wheel drive option will be available on demand.The commercial launch of Renault Duster will happen in end of 2010, probably from Romania.Then other markets will receive Dacia Duster.
