Correction : Maruti Eeco actually comes with a compressed version of G13B engine

We have mentioned several times on our blog that the new Maruti Eeco comes with a K-series engine but it actually turns out that the Eeco still maintains the 1.3L G13B engine found on the old Versa and Swift but with a lower bore and stroke that brings the engine capacity down to just 1196cc. The G13B engine has been modified and upgraded to meet the Bharat Stage-4 norms.

The engine now gets a new induction system and light weight pistons in the interests of better fuel economy and lower intertia. The engine now makes 73bhp @ 6000rpm and 103Nm @ 3000rpm. However, since this vehicle is rear wheel drive, the losses at the wheels are more as compared to front drive vehicles.

Maruti Eeco Launched At Rs.2.6lacs

Maruti Eeco, the reincarnation of Maruti Versa launched at Rs.2.6lacs. Probably Maruti Versa could be the only Maruti vehicle which could not strike chord with Indian customers other than Baleno. Understanding this situation Maruti opt for re-launching Versa in new name with a new engine. Maruti Eeco more or less similar to Versa in mechanicals except the engine. Maruti Eeco MUV May Come With An Attractive Price Tag

Maruti Eeco MUV Launch In AutoexpoMaruti Eeco, the reincarnation of Maruti Versa is expected to see day light during New Delhi Auto Expo. There are strong rumours suggesting that New Maruti Versa could be Suzuki’s APV already present in different  Asian markets. Much details are not available now. But Eeco could be Maruti Suzuki’s attempt to enter our Multi Utility Vehicle(MUV) segment, which is now  ruled by Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet  Tavera and Tata Sumo.
