VW Polo is a runaway success. Even critics will accept that fact. The success of basic Polo hatchback gave VW a great platform to bring other variants including a sedan. The VW Polo Sedan aka VW Vento recently unveiled in India. The formal launch will happen in a month or two. Meanwhile the versatility of  Polo hatch platform is being used by Calango Design to project a coupe variant of  VW Polo. As obvious the result is quiet interesting. Without loosing the Polo soul, designer managed to take out two doors and transform Polo into Coupe. Great piece art, we know this concept will die without seeing daylight. Polo commands a 4 month waiting period; VW ramping up production

Volkswagen India will ramp-up production of its Polo compact car in India to clear backlog of bookings that have been building up steadily since its launch – The Polo has received over 5,700 bookings since its launch two months ago. 1,599 Polos have been sold so far out of total bookings of 7,300 resulting in a waiting period of close to four months. “We are gradually ramping up production, but not rapidly as, we do not want to compromise on the quality. About 50 per cent of the components are localised, so we have to be very careful while increasing the output,” Volkswagen Group Sales India Board Member Neeraj Garg told. He did not give any time frame for the ramp-up though.

VW Polo adjudged as The World Car Of The Year 2010. The World  car of the year 2010 award was declared today at New York International Auto Show in Manhattan. The award is awarded after evaluating competing car  on various aspects like, merit, value, safety, environment, significance and emotional appeal. As we reported earlier this years finalists were the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Toyota Prius and the Volkswagen Polo.

Indian Bound VW Polo Sedan Caught Testing

Volkswagen is preparing their best product strategy for India.The Polo hatchback launch plan we have already informed you much before.Now the second ace from VW is also getting ready in abroad.This is a sedan from the people mover of  Germany.The sedan is also on Polo platform and will be launched by end of 2010.Some sources say we will be able see VW Polo Sedan in upcoming New Delhi Autoshow.

VW Polo Sedan test mule shows they have already reached advanced stage of development and they can be  launched in another one year.The Polo Sedan and Hatchback variants are expected to share same engine and transmissions.Along with India,VW is planning to launch the Polo Sedan in other BRIC countries as well.VW is mulling the launch of Polo Sedan in U.S too.

Polo Sedan test mule have got many similarities with it’s hatchback variants.Especially the headlights and portion till  B-pillar is exactly same as it’s hatchback siblings.This could be a direct carry forward from hatch back.VW Polo price will be the greatest attraction.The expected price of VW Polo Hatchback is Rs.4lacs and upwards.
