Tata previewed their (also India’s) maiden crossover concept Aria in 2010 New Delhi Auto Expo. After making various efforts to fine tune the final product, now Tata Motors announced a launch date for Aria. On 11 October 2010, Tata Aria will be debuting in Indian market. The launch will be a pan India event, pricing and final details are yet to be disclosed. Tata Motors may launch Aria Crossover in selected overseas markets after India launch.
The Tata Aria development story begun in 2006, with 150 odd engineers. In the final stage, Tata Motors used the expertise of their Jaguar Land Rover to give finishing touch to Aria. Tata Aria could be a great combination of comfort of a sedan, functionality of an Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and off road capabilities of an Sports Utility Vehicle(SUV). The pricing holds the key and expected to fall between Rs. 12 lacs to 16 lacs.
Aria could be powered by 2.2l Dicor engine that produces 140PS power and 320N-m torque at maximum. We believe Tata Aria will come with all latest bells and whistles to make it an attractive buy in the segment.
