Tata Merlin, we first time heard this name today. Tata Motors were working on a mystery crossover which appears as replacement for Tata Safari. Prima facia the new crossover from Tata clan is sharing similarities with Tata Safari but has got strong cues from their new friend Land Rover SUVs. Tata’s designers has been dressed up Merlin with a plain bonnet and bumper combination. The wrap around headlights which houses projector lamps looks attractive. Overall Tata Merlin sports a decent look though it lacks styling elements.
Tata Merlin will get an all new front grille with matches it’s sportiness. Though engine and transmission details are not known now, we think Tata will be planting their 2.2Dicor engine in Merlin too. All other features like, air bags, ABS may be included in final versions of Merlin. Tata may offer Merlin along with their current version Safari.
Not much details are available now, anyway it’s interesting to watch active participation from Tata Motors in SUV space where their Indian counterpart Mahindra and Mahindra is reaping huge numbers with their mighty, muscular Scorpio. Lots more details are still waiting to be released, don’t miss them.
