Tata Motors to raise price of Nano by Rs 9,000

Tata Motors have announced that they would hike the price of Nano by Rs 9,000 on an average across all the variants thanks to steep rise in cost of raw materials over the last two years, particularly steel and rubber. Tata intends to take the luxury version of the Nano, called as the ‘Europa’ to Europe in 2011. Tata is under the process of ramping up production of the Nano at Sanand which will hit 20,000 by December. Tata will also launch a deluxe version of the Nano in India by 2012. It will coincide with the Nano’s planned introduction in USA and will feature larger, more powerful engines and sport features like Power Steering, air bags and ABS.
