Recently I came across an article in Straittimes about induction of left-hand driven vehicles in Singapore. So while reading that article the first thing came to my mind was how the situation in India?Should we undergo a change in our driving side?
What could be the effects of changing the driver seat to other side? The drivers could face bit problem while taking turns in busy junction, due to inability to see the vehicle coming oposite.Parking lots and tollgates designed to accept cash/cards from right handed vehicles.Thats it? to be frank with here I am strucking up.We expect our readers to add if they feel.
What we are getting in turn?We are joining a league of majority who drive left handed machines, access to dream machines like BMW Z8, Porsche Carerra GT, McLaren SLR,Lamborghini Reventon and Bugatti Veyron, which are only available in left hand version. Also we can strip down the ‘left hand drive’ singnage from your left hand driven vehicle(eventhough many vehicles may forced to have ‘right hand driven’ signage).
But ofcource is it really matter for cars like Tata Nano,Spark and Maruti-800?.Obiously we have a middle path of allowing both left and right side drive.Whats your choice ?do let us know.
