Wheelosphere was the first blog to publish Toyota Etios images hours before it’s world premiere which happened during 2010 New Delhi Auto Expo. Since then we had covered Toyota Etios regularly. Etios could be a game changer for Toyota, to be more precise for other manufacturers too. If Toyota Etios priced rightly, it’s going to shuffle sales charts in sedan and hatchback space for sure. Toyota Kirloskar Motors Ltd (TKML) announced that their dealers will be start accepting bookings for Etios from 1-December-2010 . The Toyota Etios Hatchback will be in India by first quarter of 2011. As Etios nearing official launch, we have a final set of spy images in which both Etios hatch and sedan duo undergoing tests in Mysore-Bangalore roads.
Etios hatchback looks more attractive than it’s sedan kin. The Etios sedan looks similar to Mahindra Renault Logan especially from trunk direction. Both hatch and sedan are sporting very basic design and styling. Etios pair has undergone cost cutting exercise in Toyota’s attempt stay afloat on highly price competitive Indian market. In interior department too we don’t expect much lavishness interms of materials selection and quality.
Under bonnet hood, Etios sedan will get a 1.5ltr petrol engine while much lighter hatch variant may get 1.2ltr petrol power plant. But our diesel engine lovers have to wait for long to get a diesel motor powered Toyota Etios. Hardly another 15 days the wait for Toyota Etios will be over, so stay with us for getting more updates on Toyota Etios story.
Probably these spy images are last batch, we will see the Etios in flesh in few days time.
