Toyota Corolla, now in its tenth generation is the best selling car in the world. Toyota has unveiled a facelifted version for Europe due next month. The new model sports subtle changes to exteriors and interiors. At the front, there is a new front bumper and front radiator grille along with fog lamps. The rear also has the same changes to the bumpers and the rear light clusters are new this time around. Toyota emphasize on ‘creating an appearance of greater width’ with these changes.
The interiors get an equally subtle make-over. The steering wheel is now flat bottomed and features a redesigned cross-section in the interest of comfort. The instrument console receives changes in the form of white lights while some interior trim like the door handles are finished in silver, the same colour that runs the entire height of the centre console from top to bottom. A function wireless trunk opening has been added, giving customers the additional convenience of remote operation via a button on the ignition key. Two interior trim colours are on offer – dark gray and light gray with Alcantra upholstery.
We expect these changes to make their way into the Indian model as well as it is due for a facelift. With an improved overall car, Toyota aims lead the segment in sales followed by archrival Honda Civic. For more details, refer to the press release after the jump.

More dynamic exterior design
The exterior of the Toyota Corolla was amended to create a more advanced, sophisticated and dynamic image, reinforcing the Toyota sedan was premium quality within the C-segment.
A new front has a redesigned bumper, grille and lower grille. This emphasizes the low center of gravity of the car and driving stability. The new Toyota Corolla headlights further enhance the bold, resolute look.
For the rear, changes to the global plate garnish, combination lamps, bumpers and lights low level were included. This creates the impression of greater width, underlining the position of maximum rear of the Toyota Corolla.
2010 Toyota Corolla also benefits from the appeal of the product’s advanced new power retractable door mirrors with integrated turn indicators and a new, more sporty 16 “alloy wheel and wheel cap design. A series of eight body colors available now includes new Blue and red metallic finishes.
Improved the perceived quality of the interior
2010 Toyota Corolla’s interior has been improved by strengthening the reputation of the Toyota sedan for quality, style and innovation.
A new steering wheel with flat bottom, finished leather on higher grade models, features more often, more comfortable grip cross section.
The combination meter design offers a color change from yellow to white, and the dashboard and door handle trims are now done in a more sophisticated, the silver lining to high brightness. The same high quality finish is also available on the center console and door switch surrounds.
