TVS Motors unveiled an upgraded version of their entry level motorcycle Star City. The changes in new TVS Star City is purely cosmetic. The bike now comes in new six dual tone body paint options. The headlight has been slightly restyled to make it more appealing. Star City will continue with it’s current 110cc, continuous variable timing ignition (CVTi) engine. The bike comes with an ARAI certified mileage of 83.9 kmpl.
The price of base variant new TVS Star City is Rs 38,650 (ex-showroom New Delhi). Star City now comes with Econometer, to help the rider to get maximum fuel economy. The meter will indicate the correct economy zone so that rider can gain best possible fuel economy.
“This new motorcycle is a winning combination of executive class features and vibrant styling. The backing of high fuel efficiency and toughness will make TVS StaR City a much sought after motorcycle,” said H S Goindi, President-Marketing, TVS Motor Company.
Gold Spark, Red Blaze, Bold Blue, Electric Green, Crimson Flash and Silver Strike are the paint options available. In addition to the above said changes, TVS Star City now comes with a set of clear lens turn indicators and black alloy wheels. With all these changes, the bike look more attractive now. Company claims the new Star City will have better ride and comfort characteristics.
In the commuter segment, TVS Star City is yet to make a breakthrough. While it’s competition, Honda CB Twister, Bajaj Platina and Hero Motocorp Splendour are still enjoying their lead in the segment. Now doubt TVS Motors has the capability to unleash good products like Victor and Wego. Do you think with the launch of this upgraded Star City, TVS will make a come back in the segment..?
