A week ago we had published a set of official images of VW Up!. This time we have some real images of the upcoming small car from Wolfsburg. Up! the ambitious small car from VW group is all set for it’s debut during Frankfurt Motor Show. VW Up! will be powered by an all new 1.0ltr gasoline engine. This engine will be mapped for two power output profiles ie 60 hp and 75 hp. Initially only petrol variant of VW Up! will be available but more eco-friendly, natural gas powered versions will be joining in dual course of time.
Globally VW has not been very successful in A-segment. In this segment VW will replace their Fox with Up!. VW Up! will compete against models like Fiat Panda, Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1. As we said in our earlier post, VW’s associate companies like Skoda and Seat will also unveil their variants later this year.
In India, VW is expected to join volume race with the launch of Up! VW India will launch Up! in India by end of 2012 or early 2013. Suzuki Motor Corporation, India’s king of small car may extend their support to VW to build Up! in India. But biggest challenge for VW India could be pricing Up! right. Hope VW India will succeed in that.
We will be bringing more news in due course of time so stay subscribed.
