VW Vento launch was one of the most discussed car launch happened in our sedan sedan segment this year. VW India launched Vento with very attractive price tag to fight against proven products like New Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Suzuki SX4, Fiat Linea and Hyundai Verna and it manages to reap good sales since then. DWS reports that VW is all set to launch a new range of new variant of VW Vento in India by next year beginning. The new Vento variants will be powered by 1.4ltr petrol engine which could churn out 85HP maximum power and 132Nm maximum torque.
If the news is to believed, VW Vento 1.4ltr will be launched in entry sedan segment where Tata Manza, Chevrolet Aveo and Linea are already present. The pricing of new Vento 1.4tr would be Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 65,000 cheaper than Vento 1.6ltr petrol variant. That means Vento 1.4 litre Petrol Trendline (Manual) will cost around Rs. 6,34,000* while Vento 1.4 litre Petrol Highline (Manual) – Rs. 7,58,500* ( * both are speculated prices).
Launch of 1.4ltr engine variant will boost Vento’s growing sales further. This move could be VW’s very aggressive growth plan for India for coming years. Let us wait and see how our home grown Manza (which enjoy major chunk of the sales in this segment) going to answer VW Vento 1.4ltr. Meanwhile do remember that Mahindra will be launching revamped Logan by next year so sedan segment will be grabbing our attention in coming months.
Stay tuned for more updates.
