We have got it again alright – Exclusive pictures of Hyundai’s next-generation Verna/Accent. We just published the pictures yesterday which you can find by clicking here. The midsize sedan surely is a baby Sonata. Going by its size, we expect the Verna to move upmarket and compete against the likes of Honda City. We have no news of the Elantra though but going by the Accent/Verna, we expect similar treatment. The rear of this car is completely plain and is nothing like the Sonata YF. It looks more like the Lancer Cedia and the Accent Viva.
However, we are tempted to think if the Accent/Verna will move further upmarket and compete with the Civic. This is pure speculation and this spy picture shows that the name on the bootlid actually starts with ‘V’ and ends in ‘A’. The new Accent/Verna will also get a new range of GDi Theta and CRDi diesel engines with power outputs ranging from 90bhp-120bhp to take the fight to the Honda City.
